264 Mr. Kehoe asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if RTE is in the process of developing additional television channels; if so, if there is a timescale for transmission; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24200/03]

Under section 19 of the Broadcasting Authority Act 1960, RTE requires approval from the Minister to provide additional radio or television services. RTE has not sought my approval to broadcast an additional television service.
