Ceist:139 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of children who have been sent abroad for heart surgery in 2002 and to date in 2003; and the cost per patient. [24633/03]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 138 and 139 together.
Information relating to the number of patients referred abroad by the health boards and the Eastern Regional Health Authority is not routinely collected by my Department. However, my Department is asking the chief executive officers of the health boards and the ERHA for this information and it will be communicated to the Deputy when available.
