Data on mortality are compiled by the Central Statistics Office and published in the annual and quarterly reports on vital statistics. The latest period for which data are available is January to June 2003, and this figure is provided in the table below in addition to figures for 1990, 1991 and 1992. The figures below include all forms of CJD, including variant CJD:
