Vol. 574 No. 1

Written Answers. - Proposed Legislation.

Martin Ferris

Ceist:

499 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government if the proposed legislation on major infrastructural projects was discussed at the meeting which he attended on 19 September 2003 with officials from a company (details supplied). [26476/03]

As already stated by the Taoiseach in his replies to Leader's Questions in the Dáil on 1 and 14 October, the Taoiseach, accompanied by me and the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources met representatives of Shell on 19 September. At that meeting, the Taoiseach indicated to the company representatives that the Government was developing proposals relating to the planning process for major infrastructure projects and that this would involve new legislation which the Government would bring forward next year. No details of the proposed legislation, which is still being developed, were discussed.
