Written Answers. - Health Service Reform.

James Breen

Ceist:

222 Mr. J. Breen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will meet a deputation of consultants from Ennis General Hospital to discuss the Hanly report and its implications for the health services in County Clare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28063/03]

Pat Breen

Ceist:

225 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will consider meeting a deputation of consultants and doctors from Ennis General Hospital to discuss the implications of the recent report of the national task force on medical staffing for County Clare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28116/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 222 and 225 together.

The Government has accepted the principles of the report of the national task force on medical staffing. It is now a matter for implementation in the two regions studied by the task force. I will shortly announce details of project implementation groups in these regions. The groups will meet, and take submissions from, interested parties as appropriate. Deputations wishing to discuss implementation matters relating to the Hanly report should do so with the relevant project group.
