Vol. 1029 No. 1

National Cultural Institutions (National Concert Hall) (Amendment) Bill 2022: Report and Final Stages

As there are no amendments, we proceed to Fifth Stage.

Tá an Bille seo tábhachtach agus thar am, agus nílim chun moill a chur air. Is ábhar loighciúil é. Is trua go raibh orainn dul trí choiste agus gach rud eile chun teacht anseo. Ba chóir go mbeadh sé seo críochnaithe tamall de mhíonna ó shin. Is éard atá i gceist leis an mBille ná a chinntiú go mbeidh an National Concert Hall agus gach rud a bhaineann leis an RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra ar bhonn reachtúil agus go mbeidh an t-airgead cuí curtha ar leataobh maidir le hárachas a tugadh ar iasacht do na hhinstitiúidí náisiúnta. Tá athrú ag teacht ar an méid árachais a bheidh ar leataobh.

The Bill represents a crucial step forward in the journey of both the National Symphony Orchestra and the National Concert Hall. It is a critical part of the National Concert Hall's ambitious vision for the development of symphonic music with the restored symphony orchestra taking its place in a 21st century concert hall. The legislation will support the concert hall's effort to return the orchestra to full strength and further empower it to deliver on the recommendations outlined in the Boaden report. The amendment to increase the limit of the State indemnity is a necessary measure that will support our cultural institutions to continue to present international quality exhibitions to the Irish public.

Gabhaim buíochas leis na Comhaltaí as a mbreithniú ar an mBille seo. Tá mé ag tnúth le dul chun cinn trí na Tithe. I again thank all Deputies for their engagement and consideration of the Bill.

Question put and agreed to.

The Bill will now be sent to the Seanad.
