Joint Committee on the Secondary Legislation of the European Communities díospóireacht -
Wednesday, 25 Jun 1980

Debates in the Dáil.

The third item relates to the debates in the Dáil. The Dáil order governing debates on our reports in that House expires when the Dáil adjourns for the Summer Recess and we should ask them to renew the order. I propose to write to Deputy Moore, Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, as follows:

The Order of the Dáil of 17th October, dealing with debates in the House on reports of the Joint Committee on the Secondary Legislation of the European Communities expires when the Dáil adjourns for the Summer recess. The Committee would like to see a similar Order made when the House resumes in October next and it trusts that you will have no objection to this being done. I enclose the text of a suggested motion.

Does that meet with the approval of the Joint Committee?

Agreed.

There is a motion from Senator Robinson but we will not be able to take that because Senator Robinson is not here.

I propose the motion be taken at the next meeting. Is that in order?

Yes. Thank you.

The Joint Committee adjourned at 4.30 p.m.
