Vol. 72 No. 11

Private Business. - Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 2 and 3.

I should like, without making any specific amendment to the Order of Business, to bring two matters to the attention of the House and indeed of the Acting Leader of the House. The first is No. 4, the motion in connection with the secondary teachers' superannuation scheme, which has been on the Order Paper for a considerable length of time. I am anxious to know when this motion will be taken? The second matter is Item No. 6 on the Order Paper, which is a Bill awaiting its First Reading in the names of myself, Senator Robinson and Senator Jack Fitzgerald. There is no immediate urgency about this Bill but it has been on the Order Paper for more than four months. I should like an early indication of when the Government propose to deal with it.

I will find out the position about both of these matters. I may be able to give the House the up-to-date position with regard to them later on this evening.
