Vol. 152 No. 13

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator O'Toole that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

In the light of the Louise Woodward case, the need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to safeguard the position of young people who are engaged in vulnerable employment, within the EU and internationally, by putting processes in place to ensure that (a) a duty of care is provided for these young workers, and (b) such work is monitored.

I have also received notice from Senator Gallagher of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Health and Children to make a statement about new scientific evidence regarding the transmission of new variant CJD through blood transfusions and the measures necessary to ensure the treatment of blood donations to eliminate this risk.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
