I move amendment No. 131:
In page 97, subsection (3), line 23, to delete "two" and substitute "five".
Section 123(3) provides that where an officer or voluntary assistant of a credit union fails to provide to the auditor of the credit union, within two days, any information or explanation the auditor requires, that officer or voluntary assistant shall be guilty of an offence.
The Credit Union Advisory Committee submitted to me that a two day limit was unduly onerous even though the subsection specifically provided that these days would not include a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday. I have discussed the matter with the registrar and have decided to change the two days to five days.
