283 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the total, or expected total cost to his Department in relation to the publication, through the media, of a notice under section 13 of the Official Languages Act 2003, inviting representations in relation to the preparation of the draft scheme under section 11 of the Act from any interested parties; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraUnder the provisions of the Official Languages Act 2003 my Department is required to prepare a draft scheme specifying the services proposed to be provided exclusively through Irish, exclusively through English, through both Irish and English, and the measures proposed to ensure that any services not provided through Irish will be so provided. As part of this process, under section 13 of the Act, my Department was required to publish notice of its intention to prepare a draft scheme and invite representations from any interested parties. The total cost to the Department of publishing the notice in Irish and in English was €13,304.
