The information sought by the Deputy is as follows: County Sligo, 86 cases; and County Leitrim, 94 cases. An analysis of these cases shows that claimants did not receive the full value of their notified entitlements as they failed to declare sufficient eligible lands on their SPS applications.
In order to draw down full payment under the single payment scheme, applicants are required, under EU legislation, to declare an eligible hectare in respect of each entitlement. This requirement was set out clearly in the documentation supplied to farmers on a number of occasions.
In such cases all of the entitlements have been activated and will not revert to the national reserve. Therefore, if applicants declare an eligible hectare in respect of each entitlement they hold they will receive their full single payment under the 2006 single payment scheme.
