758 Dr. Twomey asked the Minister for Health and Children the amount of capital spending on ICT in the Health Service Executive provided for in her department’s estimates for 2006; the amount of such expenditure which has been sanctioned by her Department prior to 1 September 2006; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The 2006 Estimates for Public Services provide €70m for ICT investment by the Health Service Executive. The HSE's proposed ICT investment plans for 2006 are the subject of ongoing discussions between the HSE, the Department of Finance and my Department. No formal sanction for 2006 investment has issued as yet.
