284 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Education and Science her plans to end the plight of hundreds of school children being educated in over 40 prefabs (details supplied) in County Clare; the budget she will provide for new accommodation for the schools concerned; and the timescale on which the new accommodation will be provided. My Department is currently in the process of progressing a number of applications for extensions, refurbishments and/or new school buildings to accommodate school children in the area referred to by the Deputy.

Progress on these projects will be considered in the context of the School Building and Modernisation Programme 2006-2010.
