267 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the provision of a comprehensive, integrated, environmental monitoring programme as recommended under the Strategic Environmental Assessment of the draft Rural Development Programme 2007 to 2013 will be included in the final version of the document. Amharc ar fhreagraThe public consultation process on the draft Rural Development Programme and its associated environmental report has just been completed. The comments and suggestions arising from that process are under consideration. This includes consultation with the Environmental Protection Agency on environmental issues. I intend to submit the definitive Rural Development Programme to the EU Commission shortly. It will provide for a comprehensive monitoring programme encompassing environmental and other issues. The exact nature of that programme will be determined in negotiation with the Commission in the coming months.
