614 Deputy Michael Ring asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs when an oral hearing will be scheduled for a person (details supplied) in County Galway to finalise their carer’s allowance appeal. [21071/07]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by the Social Welfare Appeals Office that the appeal from the person concerned has been referred to an Appeals Officer who proposes to hold an oral hearing. The person concerned will be informed when arrangements have been made. Under Social Welfare legislation decisions in relation to claims must be made by Deciding Officers and Appeals Officers. These officers are statutorily appointed and I have no role in regard to making such decisions.
