314 Deputy Michael Ring asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs when an invalidity pension appeal will be finalised for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [34699/09]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by the Social Welfare Appeals Office that an appeal, by the person concerned, was registered by that Office on 15 September 2009 and in accordance with statutory requirements, the relevant Departmental papers and comments of the Department have been sought in this case. On receipt of its response the case will be referred to an Appeals Officer for early consideration.
The Social Welfare Appeals Office is an office of the Department that is independently responsible for determining appeals against decisions on social welfare entitlements.
315 Deputy Jimmy Deenihan asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs when a decision will be made on the appeal by a person (details supplied) in County Kerry for one parent family allowance; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [34709/09]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Social Welfare Appeals Office has advised me that the appeal from the person concerned has been referred to an Appeals Officer who proposes to hold an oral hearing in the case. The person concerned will be notified when the necessary arrangements have been made.
