367 Deputy Joe Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the procedures followed by his Department in relation to the granting of the installation aid package when a person may be deemed as not qualifying following the downward alteration of Land Parcel Identification System plots by the Departmental inspectorate; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the terms of both the Installation Aid Scheme and Young Farmers' Installation Scheme, only eligible land can be taken into account by my Department in determining whether or not an applicant has been set-up in farming.

Where an applicant is dissatisfied with a decision in regard to the determination of set-up, he/she may request my Department to carry out a review of that decision. Where the applicant is not happy with the outcome of that review, an appeal may be taken to the Agriculture Appeals Office.
