698 Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the detail of the new environmental scheme to replace REP scheme four; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12645/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraFor applicants with land other than Natura or non-Natura commonage, the new scheme as approved by the European Commission consists of a menu of targeted actions designed to contribute in a measurable and verifiable way towards the targets of biodiversity, water quality and climate change as set out in the CAP Health Check. For Natura and commonage land, the new scheme includes a requirement to have sustainable management plans drawn up reflecting the particular environmental conditions of each such area and any restrictions on farming activity. I am planning to launch the scheme very shortly and full details including the list of eligible measures, payment rates and application procedures will be announced at that stage.
