261 Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Social Protection the budget provided in 2010 for the back to school clothing and footwear allowance; and the anticipated start date for the scheme. [18680/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe back to school clothing and footwear allowance scheme (BSCFA) is administered on behalf of the Department by the community welfare division of the Health Service Executive (HSE). The scheme operates from between the beginning of June to the end of September each year. It is estimated 340,000 children will benefit from the scheme in 2010 at a cost of almost €83m.
