287 Deputy Bernard J. As the Deputy is aware, under the Health Act 2004, the responsibility for the allocation of resources for the provision of health and social services is a matter for the Health Service Executive. In the current economic climate, all sectors of the health services are required to operate within existing available resources including support services for children with special needs. The HSE together with the ‘non statutory organisations' who provide services on behalf of the HSE, will continue to review how these services are provided in order to protect the delivery of front line services as much as possible.
