17 Deputy Catherine Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he has held discussions with the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources with regard to the delay in seeking approval for the renewable energy feed in tariff designed to support the biofuel sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe Renewable Energy Feed in Tariff (REFIT) is a matter in the first instance for my colleague the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources. I have written previously to the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources in relation to REFIT tariffs and officials from my Department are in ongoing contacts with their counterparts in the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources with a view to progressing this and other issues.
