125 Deputy John Lyons asked the Minister for Social Protection if she will provide a breakdown of the take-up of employer job PRSI incentive scheme by employers; if she will provide the figures of the number of jobs created under the scheme; and if it is possible to provide this information on a constituency or area-specific basis. The employer job PRSI incentive scheme allows an employer who employs an additional member of staff, who had been unemployed for 6 months or more, to be exempted from paying employers' PRSI for 18 months. The job must be new and additional, be for at least 30 hours a week and last for at least six months. In 2010, a total of 736 employers were awarded exemptions in respect of 1,202 employees. A total of 660 employers were awarded exemptions in respect of 923 employees in 2011. To date in 2012, 239 employers have been awarded exemptions in respect of 311 employees. A breakdown by county is detailed in table 1 and 2.
