708. Deputy Peter Mathews asked the Minister for Transport; Tourism and Sport his plans to announce the recipients of the sports capital grants; the expected date of this announcement; if a list of the successful applicants will be provided; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [43224/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department has received over 2,350 applications for funding under the 2012 Sports Capital Programme, the largest number of applications ever received. Departmental officials are assessing all of the applications and the process will take some time due to the volume of applications. I expect to be in a position to announce the list of successful applicants later this year. All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application at that stage.
