185. Deputy Patrick O'Donovan asked the Minister for Health if he will provide the number of shifts, in tabular form, worked by non-consultant hospital doctors in acute general hospitals in 2012 that exceeded 12 hours, 16 hours, 20 hours, 24 hours, 28 hours and 32 hours, respectively; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Subject to overall parameters set by Government, the Health Service Executive has the responsibility for determining the composition of its staffing complement. I have asked the Executive to compile the information requested by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
