542. Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if he will list the cost of each Ombudsman under his remit in the years from 2000 to 2012, within the on-going economic difficulties which challenge us all to work differently. [26444/13]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission was established under the Garda Síochána Act 2005 to provide independent oversight of complaints made against members of the Garda Síochána. The Ombudsman Commission was in a preparatory phase in 2006 and became operational in May 2007. The 2007 allocation included significant funding relating to the initial set-up of the office particularly for the leasing and fit-out of its new premises. The annual expenditure incurred by this body for the years 2006 to 2012 is as follows:
