494. Deputy Andrew Doyle asked the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation the parties, in addition to the Office of Parliamentary Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General, involved in the drafting of the Companies Bill 2012; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [37047/13]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Companies Bill, 2012 which was published on 21 December 2012, is based on the General Scheme of the Companies Consolidation and Reform Bill. The General Scheme was drafted by the Company Law Review Group (CLRG), a statutory expert body which is charged with advising me, as Minister, on matters relating to company law. The legislative basis for the CLRG is set out in Part 7 (sections 67-71) of the Company Law Enforcement Act, 2001. The General Scheme was approved by Government in July 2007.
Subsequently, the Companies Bill 2012 was drafted by the Office of Parliamentary Counsel in close co-operation with officials from my Department.
