458. Deputy Ruth Coppinger asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government when a fund will be set up for the fixing of social housing affected by pyrite, in view of the fact that the current PRB scheme only applies to private housing. [30711/14]
Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department is committed to working closely with local authorities in addressing issues around pyrite-related structural defects in social housing units. In some instances the remediation of pyrite-related defects is being addressed within the terms of the construction contract. Where necessary, my Department will provide financial assistance to local authorities in cases where pyrite remediation proposals are included in the annual work programmes put forward by local authorities for funding under the Social Housing Investment Programme.
