587. Deputy Noel Grealish asked the Minister for Education and Skills when she will make a decision regarding the installation of pedestrian crossings at a location (details supplied) in County Galway; if the essential safety work will be carried out during the Christmas holidays; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Detailed estimated costings have been received for the proposed works. These are being assessed and when this assessment is complete the Department will engage with Galway County Council regarding the timeframe and methodology for the completion of the works.

It is anticipated that the required works can be carried out early in the new year.
