Ceist:286. Deputy Paul J. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his plans to recruit graduates to his Department in 2015; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2268/15]

My Department is currently engaged in a workforce planning process in which the future staffing needs of the Department will be forecast for 2015-2017. The workforce Plan will take into account any potential changes in the nature of work carried out by my Department in the coming years which is likely to impact on the level of staffing required and the relevant skills and competences applicable to each post. Until the Workforce Planning process has been completed it is difficult to assess the full level of recruitment which will be necessary in 2015 to fill critical vacancies. I can confirm that 9 graduates have been recruited to date in 2015 by my Department following a competitive process conducted by the Public Appointment Service.
