36. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection the extent to which bereavement grant-exceptional needs payment has been made available to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4095/15]
Amharc ar fhreagraAn emergency needs payment application form has been issued to the person concerned in respect of funeral expenses. Her entitlement will be assessed when the application form is returned.
The bereavement grant scheme has been discontinued and is not payable for deaths occurring on or after the 01/01/2014.
