Deputy Martin Heydon asked the Minister for Education and Skills the additional courses or qualifications that teachers with specific United Kingdom teaching qualifications and experience (details supplied) require to be able to teach here; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraSince 2006 the Teaching Council is the statutory regulator and standards body for the teaching profession. One of the functions of the Council is to register teachers in Ireland. Accordingly, this matter should be raised directly with the Council. School managerial authorities and Education and Training Boards employ registered teachers.
