1053. Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will extend the term of office of the chief executive of Horse Racing Ireland; if ministerial permission is required to do so; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10241/16]

The office of Chief Executive Officer of Horse Racing Ireland is due to expire in September 2016. The filling of this important post after that date is currently under consideration and is the subject of discussion with the Department of Public Expenditure & Reform.
