112. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Finance the status of an application by a person (details supplied) for a refund of value added tax; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11581/16]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by Revenue that the person concerned applied for tax relief under the Disabled Drivers and Passengers Scheme in respect of a change of car. This application has been approved and an exemption notification will be available to download by the person concerned on 10 June 2016. The delay in availability of the exemption is due to the fact that beneficiaries of the scheme are required to keep their car for a minimum two year period before they become entitled to make a further claim. In the case of the person concerned, that two year period expires on 10 June 2016.
