153. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Education and Skills the amount that his Department spent on external legal advice in each of the years 2013, 2014 and 2015; the names of each of the legal firms that provided advice to his Department in each of those years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm to the Deputy that the total costs for external legal advice incurred by my Department during the years in question are as follows:

- 2013 - €47843.07

- 2014 - €19312.94

- 2015 - €13591.50

The external bodies providing the advice were as follows:

- Conor Feeney, BL

- Peter Ward, BL

- Patrick Donaghy and Co.
