312. Deputy Pat Casey asked the Minister for Education and Skills the status of the construction of a new school (details supplied); the progression of this project since its inception; the proposed completion date of same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [45820/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraA building project for the school to which the Deputy refers is included on my Department’s 6 Year Capital Programme. This school will be co-located with a primary school on a green field site. The building projects for both schools are in the process of being devolved for delivery to the local Education and Training Board (ETB). The first step in this process is the execution of a Service Level Agreement between my Department and the ETB and this is being arranged. Thereafter, the ETB will procure a Design Team for the project to design the buildings, obtain the necessary statutory planning permissions and move the projects onward to construction in due course. As the projects are at an early stage in the delivery process, it is not possible at this time to give a date for their completion.
