169. Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Education and Skills if a pay scale date can be backdated in order for a person (details supplied) in County Donegal to qualify for a higher payment in respect of their pension; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [47969/17]

Any changes in pay scales across the education sector come into effect on specific dates. These dates are determined by a number of factors such as legislation and national pay agreements. It is not possible for a pay scale to be back dated on an individual basis.
