109. Deputy Brendan Smith asked the Minister for Education and Skills the number of students exempted each year since 2008 from paying the leaving certificate examination fee; the eligibility criteria for such exemption; the person or body that determines a person's entitlement; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The State Examinations Commission has statutory responsibility for operational matters relating to the certificate examinations.
