Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment the number of freedom of information requests received by his Department in each of the years from 2013 to 2017; the average time that his Department took to complete the requests; the number of requests to his Department that ran beyond the deadline; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe Table provides details of the number of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests received, along with the number of requests responded to outside of the time limits specified in the Freedom of Information Acts, during the period from 2013 to 2017 inclusive.
Dealing with FOI requests forms part of the usual duties of officials and the time spent on processing such requests can vary considerably depending on the nature of the request.
