Deputy Catherine Connolly asked the Minister for Education and Skills the estimated cost in 2020 if the 100% maintenance adjacent rate was increased from €1,215 to €1,350 and the non-adjacent 100% maintenance grant was increased from €3,025 to €3,325; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraIf the 100% maintenance adjacent rate was increased from €1,215 to €1,350 and the non-adjacent 100% maintenance grant was increased from €3,025 to €3,325, the estimated cost in 2020 would be €5.3m. This is based on the assumption that the change would take effect at the start of the 2020/21 academic year in September 2020.
The full year cost of the measure would be €11.9m.
