259. Deputy Michael Ring asked the Minister for Education the update position in relation to funding that was announced in 2022 (details supplied); the progress that has been made to date since this funding allocation was approved; if planning permission has been applied for; if the works have been put out to tender for this development; if a contractor has been appointed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I wish to advise the Deputy that my Department is in receipt of an application for additional school accommodation from the school authority in question.

Officials from my Department have been recently in contact with the school patron and correspondence will issue to the school authority shortly in relation to their additional accommodation, with particular reference to requirements for the 2023/24 school year.
