Deputy Michael Ring asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform to provide an update in relation to a scheme (details supplied); when a decision will issue regarding the confirmation of the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraOn the basis of advice received from independent consultants, supplementary information was sought from the Office of Public Works in July of this year regarding the proposed flood relief scheme in Crossmolina. This information was sought under the provisions of Section 7B(4) of the European Union (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Arterial Drainage) Regulations 2019 in order to reach a reasoned conclusion on the environmental impacts of the proposed works.
The Office of Public Works submitted the information sought to the Department on the 17th of November 2023, and it is currently being examined as required by the Regulations.
