328. Deputy Michael Ring asked the Minister for Finance the amount of carbon tax accrued for 2023; to provide a full and comprehensive breakdown of what these monies will be used for, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [56879/23]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by Revenue that the provisional Carbon Tax receipts for 2023 are €935m. Carbon Tax receipts for 2022, and previous years, are published on the Revenue website at: www.revenue.ie/en/corporate/information-about-revenue/statistics/excise/receipts-volume-and-price/excise-receipts-commodity.aspx.
As the Deputy will be aware, the Minister for Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform has policy responsibility for all expenditure decisions. In Budget 2023 the Department of Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform published "Budget 2023 : The use of carbon tax Funds".
