Vol. 6 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - COMMANDEERED MOTOR CAR (TEMPLEMORE).

DOMHNALL O MUIRGHEASA

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state when it is intended to pay compensation to Mrs. Connors, Barnane, Templemore, Co. Tipperary, for a motor car which was commandeered by the military on the 22nd July, 1922.

It is regretted that it is not yet possible to say whether compensation will be paid to Mrs. Connors, whose claim is still under consideration.

Arising out of that answer, is the Minister aware that the car was seized by the sheriff in order to pay for the repairing of it, and the repairs had to be carried out as a result of the car being seized by the military? Mrs. O'Connor is unable to pay for the repairs because she did not receive compensation from the Army people. Is he aware of that?

I am not aware of those circumstances.
