Vol. 8 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - HOUSE BUILDING AT MOATE (WESTMEATH).

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that applicants in the town of Moate who applied for grants under the Housing (Building Facilities) Act, 1924, have been informed that the Act applies only to buildings situated within 880 yards of the nearest point of the boundary of a county borough, or urban district, or town having commissioners, or in a town having a population of not less than five hundred; if he is aware that the population of Moate is over fourteen hundred, and whether, in view of this, he will now consider the making of these grants to those applying for same.

If the Deputy will be so good as to give me particulars of the applications referred to they will be inquired into at once.

It appears that some mistake has taken place. Persons desirous of reconstructing houses in the town of Moate are clearly eligible for grants under the Housing (Building Facilities) Act, 1924.
