Vol. 21 No. 9

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - LEIX UNION OFFICIAL'S COMPENSATION.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the date on which his Department received a recommendation from the Laoighis County Council regarding compensation to be paid to Mr. James Williams, late Superintendent Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages in the Mountmellick Union area; if he is now in a position to agree to the recommendation of the County Council, or if he will explain the cause of the delay or say why he is unable to give the necessary sanction in this case.

The recommendation was received on the 4th August last. Any delay that may have arisen in the matter was due to the failure of Mr. Williams to submit sufficient information in the first instance to enable a determination to be made and to the fact that no reply has yet been received to a letter addressed to him on the subject on the 15th of September last.
