Vol. 23 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - EVIL LITERATURE COMMITTEE'S RECOMMENDATIONS.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he can state when the proposals for legislation to give effect to the recommendations of the Evil Literature Committee which have been promised, will be introduced.

I would refer the Deputy to the answer I gave on the 7th ultimo to Deputy Peadar Doyle, who, on that date, addressed to me a similar question. I hope to be in a position to introduce the Bill at an early date.

Does the Minister not think that there is an urgent need to deal with this matter?

There is no unavoidable delay, but the Deputy will understand that this is not a very easy Bill to draft. It is very easy to draft a Bill dealing with the broad lines of the question, but there are niceties that require to be very carefully thought out.

Am I to understand that the Bill is being prepared?

Yes. I think the Bill will be very shortly introduced.

Will the Bill be introduced prior to the summer recess?
