Vol. 23 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - POSTAL FACILITIES (BALLINCURRY, THURLES).

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware of the inconvenience caused to residents of Ballincurry district, Thurles, by the present arrangements for the delivery of letters, and whether he will consider the advisability of restoring a daily delivery in the district.

It is presumed that the Deputy refers to the Ballincurry Cross to Tarsna rural post on which Ballincurry is served, and on which there is a delivery at present on three days a week. The existing postal service is maintained at a loss to revenue. It is regretted, therefore, that the additional service asked for by the Deputy cannot be granted owing to the expense involved.
