Vol. 23 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - HAULBOWLINE DOCKYARD.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is at present negotiating for the sale of the following plant and machinery in Haulbowline Dockyard: Bolt-making machine, planning machine (iron), rolling machines, hot circular saw for cutting brass or iron; several lathes, fitters' shop and all journey machinery; whether this plant would not ordinarily be used in ship repairing; and whether he will now give instructions that this plant and machinery be not sold.

As indicated in the reply given to Deputy Hennessy on the 18th April, there is at Haulbowline Dockyard a quantity of obsolete and redundant machinery and scrap which would be a hindrance rather than a help to anybody using the place.
