Vol. 24 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MULLINGAR HEALTH INSURANCE CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that William Mulligan, of Battstown, Cadda, Mullingar, has paid National Health Insurance contributions regularly since May, 1923, to January, 1928; and that, notwithstanding the fact that he presented ten medical certificates from January 9th, 1928, he has received no benefit and no answer to his application for arbitration.

Inquiries have been made into this case by the Commission's outdoor staff, and benefit to the amount of £3 13s. 9d. has now been paid to Wm. Mulligan. It seems delay, for which the Department was not responsible, was due to some doubt as to what Approved Society he belonged to. With a view to a possible increased payment of benefit further inquiry is proceeding.
